You are a Creative Agency working together as a team and  it is your job to create, publish and exhibit a Zine that connects with and celebrates the brand TSPTR through their Spring/Summer 2022 Journal. Your creative starting point is through the theme of REVOLUTION. Revolution is ordinary people bringing about change by doing extraordinary things.

The Response

We discovered that TSPTR's brand ideology revolves around rebellion, inspired by American subcultures, politics, protests, and war. Their clothes tell stories with purpose and meaning. Similarly, our zine Silence Before the Revolution aims to highlight the power of individual action against oppression, educating readers about historical events. TSPTR's ideology is all about rebellion, reflected in their aesthetic inspired by subcultures and protest movements.

I was the photographer and manufacturer of the zine pamphlet stitch “We share the stories we love that are true, soulful, and need to be heard.” This brought us to our concept of telling stories from innovators we aspire to. My creative response was inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s silent revolution. Whilst Kawakubo subverts the traditional ideas of fashion and beauty, she rarely has spoken about her work and allows her clothes to speak for themselves. So, I illustrated this by drawing a collection of She resists being defined; she has made it clear that she wants to be an enigma, and she confounds the press with defiant answers.
